Ports of Tauranga and Auckland now require all crew joining in their respective Ports to have completed 14 Days in a Managed Isolation facility here in NZ prior to entering their Port.
14 Days Isolation is not permitted by Immigration NZ under the current structure of the Visa issued to Marine Crew to join a vessel here in NZ, so that makes crew changes at these Ports impossible. The only exception to this rule is that the NZ Government is now allowing crew servicing the Pacific Islands to complete 14 Days isolation here in NZ. This new policy takes affect from the 01st February 2021, but access to the Managed Isolation facilities will be difficult as it is via a public access website so they are under heavy demand.
